    Computer reboots after shutdown win 7


    Does anybody know why win7 reboots after i do a computer shutdown. I have done many a google search, without any finding any solutions.

    Hi and welcome to SF.

    Try the following, switch off your computer as you usually do.
    Then use the time it stays powered off, to remove the power cable from the power supply.
    Wait a minute and plug the cable back in.

    Should the pc restart enter the BIOS check the energy options as a couple of mainboards do have an option to power on the computer after power cut.
    Is your PSU making any strange noises while powered down ? As it can happen that the PSU has problems in keeping the electricity and therefore the BIOS thinks that there was a power cut after a shut down.

    No probs with CPU, it was shutting down normally for ages, then it just starting rebooting out of the blue. Thanks again
