I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.2 64 bit, and let it uninstall Windows 7, but I want Windows 7 back on, but I cannot
delete partition 1 of Linux /dev/sda 1 keeps saying Isof(8) or fuser(1)), and every command Linux users suggest is rubbish,
and does not work. I cannot install my Windows disk because naturally ASUS is booting into Linux. I feel like screaming.
I want it of my toshiba external hardrive. Dont know if anyone can help me.Could someone email me if there is an answer.

Linux (Mint is primary) / XP, Win7 Home / Win7 Pro, Ultimate / Win8.1 / Win10 archived VM
 
 

At power up, enter the BIOS and change the boot order to CD/DVD first and HDD second.

Insert Windows installation DVD and restart.

Tell installer to format entire drive.

I will try this and let you know how It goes, because I also have the problem of GNU grub bootloader causing monitor
to go to sleep, or shutdown at startup. I have to figure out how to get of it to.

Thank you so much. I was able to reinstall windows 7, following your instructions, and it erased Linux folders. My nightmare is over, and it it automatically booting correctly into Windows, and I now have
all my free storage space back.
