Help: Files won't open with program they opened with yesterday...

I made some .RPP music files with a DAW called Reaper. Yesterday reaper.exe was in a folder something like:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\VSTs etc

and I highlit one of the files, chose Open With, did the Browse, selected reaper.exe, and it opened fine as did all other .RPPs and I thought things were going well. But today I moved the VSTs etc folder to just C:\VSTs etc and then the .RPPs wouldn't open with Reaper any more. So again I highlit, browsed, chose reaper.exe, but from there instead of opening and things going well nothing happened. After trying it MANY times it still never worked. Can anyone help me understand how to make it work again like it did the day before?

Thank you for any help!
David

Well another question then...I've seen a place in Windows that lists all the types of files and what they open with and you can make changes there, but can't remember what it's called or how to get to it. Maybe that could help. Can anyone tell me about that?

moved a program, its files opened wrong, editing registry didn't help.
I had a program in a subfolder on my desktop, and I had set it as the default program for opening .PK3 and .WAD files, and then, like a total idiot, I moved the program to a different folder. The next time I tried to open a PK3, the "open with..." dialog box came up. I browsed for the new location...

Hey guys. I've got a .hlp file that I want to open, but I guess it was made with an older version of Windows in mind. If I double click to open it I get what you see in my first attachment. I can open it with a version I downloaded from Microsoft's site (C:\Windows\winhlp32.exe). However, the...
