Windows 7 transition to Windows 10 problem

Hi, I am currently running Windows 7. I would like to transition to Windows 10. When I try to install 10 I get an error message that says I don't have enough RAM. I do have enough RAM, no question of this. Apparently, Windows and my PC's motherboard don't communicate too well. My local computer shop said maybe I have to get a new motherboard--no updates out there, I guess, for the old board. This seems like an unnecessary expense. Any ideas for a work around? Thank you.

You say you do have enoug ram, yet in your system specs for memory you say unknown. Roght click computer and select properties. How much ram does it say you have. Also,

Please fill out your System Specs

       Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

We could help you better if we knew exactly what hardware we are dealing with. Go to your motherboard's web site and look at the specs for the board and download the manual. It will tell you what kind of memory it takes, the total amount and how much each Dimm Slot will take.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Please use the link above my signature to Fill in your system spec's with the forums utility.

Seeing win-10 is just over 5 weeks from release I would wait for your hardware manufactures to catch up with new drivers...
