If computer idle 2-3 hours then all opening programs are closed

I newly got a computer and installed the everything.
When I am not used computer (idle) for 2-3 hours then all opening programs are automatically become closed. I am a researcher and sometime I need to run programs continually more days. So, this is a big issue for me.

Computer details are:

Turn off the display: Never
Put the computer to sleep: Never
Power plan: balanced (reccomanded)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60 GHZ
RAM: 8.00 GB (7.87 GB usable)
System: Windows 7 professional , 64 bit operating system

Can you tell if the computer restarted?

Until you solve this problem, uninstall Norton and use MSE:
Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
You can put Norton back later.

If removing Norton does not solve the issue, then try these steps:
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Sorry that I was not clear. I was asking if you could tell if the computer had restarted on its own (and thus closed all of your apps).

If your normal user account has no password and if there is only one user account, then Windows goes straight to the desktop without asking you to pick another user account (because there are not other user accounts) and without entering a password (because there is no password).

So... what I was wondering: did the computer restart after being idle for hours? (thus closing your apps)

The Windows logs should show each restart.

Of course, if you have a password or multiple user accounts, you can easily tell if the computer has restarted.

Sorry for the late reply.
My normal user account has no password and it has only one user account.
I am confusing to search about whether it is restarted or not. What is a event ID for search it?

But 1st time I tried it with different settings (Turn off the display: ..... min) and Then I saw after idle time it show log on screen and then after clicking log on , lost opening programs.

Thank you.

It does sound like the computer is restarting.

Event ID 13 is shutdown and Event ID 12 is start up.

If computer idle 2-3 hours then all opening programs are closed-id.png

If you find those events, take note of the time and look around that same time in the other logs.

Thank you for your details.
Now I am using another computer and above mentioned computer is idle up to now. It is nearly 3 hours now. So I will wait and check it again and give updates.
Thank you.

If it will give any problems again I will reply.
Actually I should need to run programs continually more days because of my research works. So, this is a great help for me.
Thank you very much.

BSOD when computer is idle, happens after about 1-2 hours of up time.
Hi, i am getting a BSOD. I have done a little research thinking that it might be a bad video card (I own an NVIDIA GeForce 9400GT on v340) or some bad memory(running 4 x 1GB). I am not exceptional at reading dump codes or anything like that so I went and found that I could upload my files and...
