Computer crashed refuses to boot or charge

Hi,

My computer is a Dell inspiron 14R (2011). It crashed yesterday and now it refuses to boot up. Thinking it might be the battery problem, I tried charging it. I know my charger is working because of the charging light but when I plug it in, the light turns off so I'm assuming the computer doesn't want to charge. Does this mean my processor or something has shortcircuited?

Try:
- Unplug the charger and run on battery alone
- Then remove battery and run on charger alone

- Remove both charger and battery, press power button for 30 seconds, then plug them back in and try booting

Hmm, when you say can't boot, does it power on but can't boot to Windows or not start at all?

I would remove the RAM and HDD and see if it would at least start up like that. I wonder what others will say.

This computer refuses to boot
My step-son got tired of calling the Geek Squad to repair his Dell XPS 410 computer with Windows Vista Home Premium and retired it. He got a Mac Notebook to replace it. He gave the Dell computer to me to do with what I wished. My plan is to remove Vista and all data and replace it with W7 Ultimate...

Computer refuses to boot normally;classic look and no internet access
I installed updates from Microsoft today, and Norton 360 (I know it's not the best antivirus suite, but I've already paid for it) stopped working. So I followed Norton's instructions and installed what I believe was Norton's rootkit. I can't recall what I did (I think I restarted the computer...

Computer refuses to boot, and I don't have Windows 7 disk
About two years ago, I won my Lenovo laptop through my school, thanks to Google. The thing is, they never sent me a Windows 7 installation disk. It came to me with Windows already installed on it. I don't have a product key, but I have my laptop's serial number. And my computer has been going...
