    Removal of Magnifier in Win7

Hi. I did some 'searching' and found a few posts about 'magnifier' but most were concerning it's use, how to exit out of it, etc. My question is how to stop it.

I've been to Ease of Access Center, and there is no checkmark in magnifier. A shortcut to it is listed in start menu and I located the app in C: drive. But I can find no way of 'executing the exe'. It is constantly popping up when I'm using anything on the desktop. This is a real nuisance for me though I'm sure many may need it. Thanks!

    Removal of Magnifier in Win7

Zigzag, I've been there and done that or at least, attempted that. The message back to me is: "You require permission from Trusted Installer to make changes to this file". I'm the Admini guy and I didn't install it. It will not let me
    remove it.

Mr Jukes. All I do is have something open on desktop, be moving my mouse around on it and this pops up automatically. I mean it does this constantly - requiring me to back out of it.

    Thanks

Check your mouse settings. One of the extra side buttons was set to Magnify on mine (Microsoft default). If you grabbed the mouse wrong, Magnify popped up.

LBJ, that did it. Merci. Why and How 'magnify' became set as (default) for the mouse's rightclick, I will never know. I had just upgraded (clean install) to Win7 last week, and the mouse began doing that after the upgrade from Vista. (Your last name wouldn't be Johnson, would it??) Thanks again - really appreciate your suggestion to finding the solution. Regards

Renaming the exe was the only method that worked for me.

My issue was similar, Magnify kept popping up when I grabbed the (Microsoft) wheelmouse. The "Side" button by default is set to activate "Magnify". I too, cannot delete Magnify in Sys32, therefore I'm going to try(as suggested) to rename it.
    Thanks Folks.
