If no win-7 is Linux also crapped from skylake :)
Not to mention 5930k & 5820k so there are plenty of other choices no need to buy a pain in the rear end cpu and board.

If you have an internal ODD (USB won't work), a Windows DVD, a PS/2 port and a PS/2 keyboard, then sure, you can do that.
Some 5–7% better performance-wise as usual, but the platform is more modern, with DDR4, 20 PCIe 3.0 lanes instead of 8 PCIe 2.0 for storage etc, USB 3.1, USB Type-C …
DDR4 support in itself is a good reason to buy Skylake. Why stick to DDR3 at this point in time? Why buy the next best?
It's not a cheap mans world :)
There are cheaper alternatives if cost is a factor
All one has to do is compare ddr4 to ddr3 to figure that one out so by then cpu and mobo are at least not a budget buy
Hi,

Anyone has got this to work? I am on an Asrock Z170 Extreme 6 with an 15 6600K - so I used the DVD drive to install the OS (Windows 7).
I chose to install all drivers to it is automated just have to reboot and then the process continues. at the point where the USB 3 is installed and reboots the mouse and kb does not work at all.
I found an newer version of the BIOS 1.6 - You guys think this is a good idea?
