control panel and recently used items

I remember in the RC build of windows 7 when I opened up the control panel on the left it showed a menu which at the bottom had applets that were recently used so could be quickly accessed.

On the RTM of windows 7 this menu on the left is gone, vanished, caput. Is now just an empty area. Is there an option to bring this back or was it removed after the public RC build?

Hi chrysalis,

Are you talking about this..
control panel and recently used items-control-panel-2-.png

I have just used the beta for only a week or so when it launched to the public In January.(2009). So I don't remember that feature all to well.. but I could not find anything like that in the RTM version..

Hope this Helps..

looks like it yes, even on my RC build computer I do not see it, but I had it showing when I used to run the RC build on my laptop and the recently used control panel items used to be at the bottom of that bar.

Might be an update that removed it....

I don't recall ever seeing it.
