from the link I believe you are just interpreting things incorrectly. You have 2 gigs as shown in system info. Only 1 gig is available because win 7 takes the memory and puts it in cache for faster access. That is correct. In my case I have 4 gigs and win 7 takes 2 gigs for cache. You can verify this by going into task manager and looking at the performance tab. see snip
