    No administrator access

    Hi
I'm new to Windows 7 and have a problem with the Built-in Administrator. More correctly, I have made changes to the Built-in Administrator and would appreciate assistance to correct the problem.
I have followed the forums advice on enabling the Built-in Administrator, renaming it, and then disabling it. Now I can only use the standard user log-in, which won't let me access the elevated command prompt, restore and a range of other functions.
I think that the problem may stem from accidently changing my original user account to standard user (from the original Administrator account used to set-up the system).
Would someone please advise how I can correct this situation.

Hello Sandarkan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if you can boot into Safe Mode and log off and log on to the built-in Administrator account from there to change your other account back to a administrator type.

If this fails, then you can do a repair install to have another default administrator account setup without losing anything.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks for your prompt response and assistance.

I used the safe mode to fix the problem.
