    HELP! Driver update broke pc

I was installing a new driver from nvidia but I uninstalled the previous one incorrectly(deleted driver itself before physx). Afterwards, most programs like origin, steam, games.. dont even open. Steam is always updating and crashing, while the rest just dont respond. Task manager lists them in working services but nothing on screen.

I tried, pc restore and driver sweeper, scannow command but nothing helped. PC IS very SLOW now, like opening search bar and taks manage rhave freezes. on SSD.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Hi Ronning and welcome to sevenforums.

Upon running the sfc scannow command it should have created a CBS.log in "C:Windows/System32/CBS/CBS.log", could you please upload it?

    Cheers
    Boris :)

    Hi,

I did not find the folder. CBS is not in system 32, ran scannow twice, still no folder. I run all folders shown(hidden too).

I also did win 7 repair install few hours ago and it did not help as well.

Maybe i have to do a clean install?

    THanks

    Hi Ronning,

Have you run a malware scan in case you have been infected?

    I would run this: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewd.../1-adwcleaner/

    And this: https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

And maybe download CCleaner as well to speed things up a bit: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

    Cheers
    Boris :)

I would go to Device manager and uninstall the nvidia adapter from Windows. Choose the delete drivers option if it is presented. Reboot. Windows will install the standard VGA adapter. Now try to install the new nvidia driver.
