    Desktop icons keep rearranging themselves after full screen games


    Sims, Jurassic Park, Minecraft, etc. if it's a full screen thing, the icons will be all out of place when resuming back to the desktop. I've selected to align icons to grid already, but it'll still keep doing it. How can I fix it?

    Are you running the games at your native monitor resolution?

    Happened to me when i ran a game at 1440 x 900 on a 1920 x 1080 monitor

    Once you get your icons back where you want them, try right clicking on a blank spot on the desktop, then click on Refresh.

I recently installed Win 7 Ultimate on a new build. Whenever I reboot, the desktop icons keep rearranging themselves alphabetically along the left side of screen instead staying where I put them. I have Auto Arrange Icons unchecked. Am I missing a setting somewhere to tell Win 7 to leave my cottin'...
despite what microsoft thinks is best for me and how my desktop should look...i'd prefer to keep it the way i want... any way to make this infiltration into my private domain stop please? tried everything that's suggested in google searching for a solution, nothing works.
The icons I save on the desktop open only in half display. Then I have to maximize. In WinXP you expand once and that solves it. What about Win7?
Is there a way to prevent users from rearranging the desktop icons ? or where does Windows 7 keep the configuration files that keeps track of the icon placement on the desktop?
