    64-bit codec on 32-bit application


    hi, If i have a 32-bit video player, on 64-bit OS,
    Will i be needing 64-bit codecs?

    The default Windows media player(as for most other player too) is 32bit.
    That means that 32bit player is using 32bit codec.
    Only if you use a 64bit player(or you want explorer thumbnails of your videos)
    you should use a 64 bit codec.

    But it doesn't hurt having them both(depends on codec pack!)
