Delete message from desktop

Yesterday I deleted some pictures on my computer. Now when I turn on the computer or click "enter" if it goes into sleep mode, I get the message "There are no pictures in C:/Users/Helen/Pictures/2015-12-13". Well I know I deleted it, but why do I keep getting this message and how do I get rid of it? I can't move my curser to it because the message disappears ifI do.

I have deleted pictures many times and this problem never happened.

Appreciate some help.

You must have set up your screen saver to use Pictures and there is an empty folder now that you have deleted the pictures in it (2015-12-13)
Delete that folder and the message should no longer appear.

pbcopter, you are right, I did use the picture for my screen saver, but I do not find an empty folder. The picture is still shown in "my pictures" and "pictures", though I changed the name from 2015-12-13 to Sadie (my cat). The picture does not appear to be in a folder and I want to keep it in my pictures. Do you have solution?

I hope I am not confusing you, I am confused myself.

Does the screen saver still have 2015-12-13 as the picture it wants to use? How many pictures are being used by the screen saver?

Yes, my screen saver has the picture I want. I do not have any other pictures on my screen saver.

I am still working on this problem. I have tried numerous times to just delete the folder "2015_12_15", but I cannot find the folder anywhere. I don't know why my computer is looking for photos in this folder because I have the screen saver photo I want. Just while I was writing this my modem went blank and wrote "Windows is looking in this path 2015_12_15...". I would sure like to get rid of it.

Hi Helen, I don't use a screen saver but lets see if I can help.

Your problem I feel started when you changed the name of the file that is the picture you use as your screen saver. i.e.
"Sadie".
Just right click on your desktop and click on Personalize and re-initiate your screensaver by showing the system the "Sadie" file.

Good Luck

There's a difference between "Screensaver" and "Desktop Background"

If you used the same picture for both but renamed it that could be the problem.

So for desktop background:

Right click Desktop> Personalize> Desktop Background
Delete message from desktop-personalization.jpg
Picture Location. Browse to the picture that you want to use and set it as your desktop background.
Delete message from desktop-desktop-background.jpg
RE: Screen saver

Go back to the Personalization window and choose "Screen Saver" at the bottom right of the window.

Then do pretty much the same thing.

Wayne, you are right, I am referring to desktop, not screen saver. I did as you suggested, but I am still getting the same message after clicking on "Sadie". I do not have a folder the message is referring to. Another thing, if I click on "Pictures" or "My Pictures" I see the same pictures, but when I clicked on "Desktop Background" I get pictures that I thought disappeared (at least I could not find them).

As I am sure you realize, I do not understand this picture business.
Appreciate you trying to help.

The way I would do it if it was my computer.
I would save the picture of the cat to a external flash stick. (memory stick) and verify it was there.

Then remove all pictures of the cat on your system where ever they are (My Pictures, Pictures, Desktop background), where ever. When done reboot and verify things are gone. Then move the picture from the flash drive back to the computer and choose Set as Desktop Background with the cat picture.

This way you are as sure as possible you don't loose the picture of your cat and you have a nice Desktop Background with nothing in the way.
