This is a short version of events.
Windows Update continuously checked for updates, found and tried various 'solutions' nothing worked.
Did a system restore using Acronis, looked for more 'solutions' still nothing worked.
Did another restore with Acronis going back to July 2015. One solution was to leave the checking for updates running, which I did and now all on my Laptop is upto date and running well.

The 2 files in my image have been in the recycle bin as I was intending to delete them, but after looking in Google I restored them.
    -
The only programs I've updated are Firefox, Ccleaner & Adobe flash player.
    -
I looked for the files on my other pc but was not successful.

Those are UltraDefrag generated files. The fraglist file will change every time you run the program.

What defrag program are/have you used? Regardless, you can delete those two files if you wish (but why?) as they will be recreated.

    Code:
    bootsqm file ... 4 KB
    fraglist file ... 1 KB
Disk drive ... 500,000,000 KB (at least)
Solution: Ignore those files. They just don't matter.

bootsqm.dat is created after running chkdsk. fraglist.luar is created (usually) by 3rd party defrag programs (Ultra defrag, Smart Defrag). Both are usually safe, and can be ignored. Submit them to Virus Total if any concerns.
