    Honestly, I can't see the motherboard or driver for the motherboard causing the motherboard to quit. It will be interesting to see if the poster gets it fixed. If the fix is simple, I may put windows 10 back on. (I have an image backup). ThrashZone for your sleep issue, there are few fixes for that. I read some Linux distros can also fix that sleep problem.

    Yep I couldn't find the threads off hand but yes linux has repaired some of the damage fast start caused
    But is a good example of what 10 can do to firmware of hdd's
    I can't see 10 doing any damage to legacy bios but uefi well that is another noodle since it basically makes utilities (one example is asus's AI Suite 2) able to modify settings from inside the os so it makes sense the os can also make modifications if designed to do so
