laptop battery never fully charges

hi

ive got a brand new battery in an old dell inspiron n4030 lappy, win 7 64bit. It never charges more than 86 pc and runs out of juice at about 26pc [on the task bar] . To try and calibrate it ive run full charge/discharge cycles 4 times. Only a couple of pc better

using power plan called "balanced" and default settings

trouble is that i cant re calibrate it properly cause battery will not last below 26pc and every instruction ive seen says to set pc to sleep at about 4 pc

the old battery goes right down to 5pc
any ideas anyone

thanks

I think you need to select power saver and make a plan for battery. Maybe it works in your case.

what sort of plan should i make, the only useful thing would be to shut it down just before 26pc so t dose not crash
will try other plan
thanks

This problem started 3 weeks ago. When battery charge reaches 100% the AC LED indicator is turned off and the laptop runs from battery (decreasing it's performance even selecting High Performance power plan). If the AC plug is disconnected and reconnected the AC LED indicator is turned on until...

Laptop powers off unexpectedly at 20% battery left. 1YearOld Battery..
Hello there, I have an one year-old ASUS K53S Laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits, 6GB Ram and 500HDD. At the beginning, my battery lasted >3 hours in Balanced power mode (which is the one I alway use) and now due to regular use it last about 2 hours. Everything normal until here. About...

Laptop won't boot fully after battery drain
My parents were redoing my "office"/mancave, and they unplugged my laptop from the surge protector I was using, and plugged it into a different one, which apparently cut off the power going to my laptop. So my battery ran down to nothing, and my computer shut itself off. Now, I'm on a different...

Laptop charges when off but not when on
Hi, I have been running my laptop off the charger for a few months now (the laptop does hold some charge when running off the battery, but only 30 mins tops before the battery is empty - need a new one). Today I turned the laptop on with the charger plugged in but the laptop wasn't charging...

Battery always showing 100% remaining even if it's fully charged
Hey guys!I've had this problem for awhile, but I didn't think it was serious. The battery icon never shows 'plugged in' when the AC is connected. It wouldn't be a problem, but when I try to install a driver it always requests the charging mode...and my windows 7 ultimate edition x64 does not...

How long does your battery last between charges
Just curious how the long the battery lasts on some of the laptops out there that I haven't used or worked on before. Here's mine @ 97% charge.. the 2nd one taken a few minutes before that right after I took it off the charger.
