Yellowish monitor issue

Hi there.
I am having a strange issue with my system, the day before yesterday i turn on my PC, it booted normally but in a couple of minutes the screen turned yellowish (I still could see the desktop) and a couple of minutes after the screen turned off.
I went to see the CPU and it was still on, but then a minute later it also went off.

I immediately proceeded to turn on the computer once again but this time the screen would not turn on.
The motherboard was reading A0.

So, I opened the case and resetted BIOS with a screwdriver on the 2 pins for several seconds.
Pressed power button and chose Optimized settings, computer booted normally and I was alleviated while using it all day.

Yesterday morning I went to turn on my computer and the same thing happened, but this time the cpu stayed on. I tried resetting the cpu but the screen never went on again.
I had to power off holding the power button for several seconds.

I did not try resetting the BIOS once again because I really don’t want this to happen again, I have 2 internal HDD that I don’t want the data to get corrupted.

That’s why I come here to this wonderful forum to get help.

My system specs is:

- Processor: Core i5-2500K Quad-Core 3.3 GHz 6 MB Cache

- Memory: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz - F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

- GPU: Sandy Bridge

- Monitor: Acer X233H LCD

- OS DRIVE: Crucial m4 128GB 2.5-Inch (9.5mm) SATA 6Gb/s Solid State

- OS DRIVE: Western DC WD5000AAKS
(500.1GB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, NCQ, 16MB Cache)

THANKS.

You might have a weird color profile
Click start and control panel/ Color management,
All profiles and scroll to the bottom area
This is a weird one I had turned windows photo viewers background pinkish
I switched to a RGB profile and all is good
No tutorial besides this one :/

I can't boot to the desktop. Besides I don't really think this has to do with that. The screen color is normal when I booted the last time, but then it turned yellowissh by itself. Then monitor turned off.

Thanks for help though

How old is the monitor? LED or ccfl backlights? Do you have another monitor to try?

Hi,
I believe every monitor/ tv windows will download a driver for and even offer a update for it
That driver comes with a color profile.

Or try your monitor on another pc, to rule out if it`s going bad.

Don`t go updating your bios, or making a bunch of hardware changes, you`ll just make things worse.

Just hook the monitor up to another PC to see if it`s working ok.

Hello.
I tried another monitor, it seems that the DVI port or cable is defective...
D-SUB and HDMI work.
So that is what I am using. All good.
Very strange the DVI does not work all of a suddent.
Anyways I have no problem using HDMI.

The only issue I am having right now is that my dual boot system inmediately boots to the Windows installation on the SSD drive.
I had a menu from which I could choose which one to boot from before this issue.

It seems that the BIOS reset messed up with this.

How can I get back my menu?

Thanks a lot people..

You see, that`s why I said not to mess with anything until you troubleshot the monitor.

See if this will help you.

If your dual boot was on separate drives, just use the boot menu to boot into the other system.
