    Temp Internet Files won't empty

Hope someone can help me, please. I empty my temp files on a regular basis. Today, I decidd to "view files" after deleting to make sure they are gone. They were not gone. Still there.

I have never seen this before. Is there a way to empty them? They all should be gone with "delete". I am checking all boxes for deletion.

I have checked my settings in Advance, but I am not sure what I am looking for.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!!

    Hi and welcokme to sevenforums

Are you using the disk cleanup wizard to delete the temp internet files?

I'm sorry. I should have stated what I used. I used IE8/Tools/Internet Options. In a side note, my husband checked his. No deletion was made. We both used CCleaner. That took care of problem.

Of course the point is that IE8 should work correctly.

Did you close out of Internet Explorer after doing the cleaning?

I sure did...several times. BTW, I spoke too soon. Even CCleaner didn't empty them...although it did work on hubby's Win 7. I'll try CCleaner again

On another side note LOL, this time when I used Tool/Internet Options/View Files, I then used Organize/Select All/Delete. NOW, they're cleared.

I just noticed something else. No websited I visit (i.e. Facebook, a couple of forums, etc. will not keep my logged it. This forum being one of them.

Oh well, usually in time, I figure these things out
    Thanks for any future suggestions!

It could be possible you are running an application that makes use of IE engine and in turn caching features. I use the Zune software for example that does this. While it is running it is contently connected and downloading new data which is then cached in the same directory as IE.

I suppose that's possible. I do have iTunes but I don' know if that causes this or not. I do know now that cookies won't hold.

BTW, let me scream AAARRGGH...........files are all back again (

You will need to enable and keep the good 'cookies' to stay logged into the sites you frequently visit.
I use CookieWall: Network Downloads : CookieWall /// AnalogX

BTW, you can also delete the tracking cookies as soon as they pop up :)

Oh good idea. BTW, this time when I went to empty *cookies* I left that option unchecked and now I can don't need to log into places that I want to "remember me". Apparently, the cookies and history were being dumped BUT those jpgs and other files just don't go away....even with CCleaner. Gotta be in my settings something.

Anyway, thanks for that site! I'l try it :)
