    Am I Running 32 or 64 Bit?

Asus computer came with W7 installed. It has 8 GB of memory. How can I tell if it's running 32 bit or 64?

Right click on Computer>Properties and it will tell you 32-bit OS or 64-bit OS.

    System Type - 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64)

Go to Control Panel, then click on System. It should tell you under System Type.

If it came with 8 GB of memory it is most likely equipped with 64-bit Windows. But check it out for yourself...

In the start menu right click on Computer and go to Properties. Look for System type, it will say 64 or 32-bit Operating System.

Edit: Wow, you two were quick to post. :)

Thanks to all. It is running 64 bit. No wonder everything happens instantly!

He could have just used taskmanager and checked to see if all 8G of memory registered.
