I appreciate all of your help. I could not have done it without all the good instruction. Besides, the best help allows for self education along the way. Assuming the updates work, I would say this went really well. You guys do a great job. Thanks again.

I just wanted to add some information for anyone else that may do this and have questions.
The win7pro load allows the usb 2.0 to work but not the usb 3.0, ethernet, or wireless.
I found the ethernet driver and loaded it via the usb 2.0 then ran the windows updates.
I ended up with most of the drivers installed via the initial windows updates. I was missing about 10 drivers.
I found the rest of the drivers by googling the hardware ID's one at a time listed in the device manager properties tabs.
I could not get the drivers from the HP site directly because it scans the system and only produces win10 drivers (as warned).
But googling the hardware ID's produces hits to HP message boards with links to most of the drivers needed.
I filled in the rest using drivermax.com and driverscollection.com.
It took some time but it went pretty well for the most part. The machine works nicely.
Thank you again to everyone here for all of the help and information.
