My laptop been acting funny and my home computer

Hi its been a long time, that I last was on here. 2 weeks ago my laptop restart it self again. I always clean my laptop by doing cc cleaner,AVG,spybot,Advancd systeamcare, and Malwerebyte. Some time my laptop fix its self. I am still going to get a new laptop with window 7. I am saving money. Sometime I think I should go back to the hp brand but I don't know. I have a printer that hp, but I am not sure if it will work with any other brand laptop. Also my home computer been acting strange also. I have window xp and window 7 on there. It a split were I can pick witch one I could go to. My friend put window 7 on there. I ask him do I have room to have both window xp and window 7, he said yes, I do have the room he check. For 1 year xp and window 7 work fine. Last year it started to act up. What happen is window xp freeze after 15mins witch is strange. Window 7 did not freeze. But for odd strange reason on my window 7 stuff start disappear in march 1,2015 I did not know why. I have not touch it from last year 2015.So I ask my friend why is xp freeze and window 7 stuff disappear. He said I need new hard drives. I told him I have 2 good hard drives I have in a bag. He said find them and I will put it in and fix it. Can tell me if that the reason that my home computer been acting strange?

Computer Acting Funny

It doesn't happen all the time, or most, but it does happen at times. What could be...

Themes Acting Funny
Every time I apply a theme it doesn't stay selected, it makes a "Custom" one. Is this normal or a bug? UPDATE I just heard this (my sound is down most of the time), but it does the "Windows Explorer Starting" sound when I change themes. Almost like maybe it's restarting explorer.
