I'm waiting to see if RemixOS takes off. As it stands now, I use a lot of Android devices anyway so won't be a major switch for me. It looks pretty promising but still early days yet and 2020 is still a way off. Not sure how fully featured it will be by 2020.

I`m not gonna have a Part because Windows 7 support will end, I`m gonna have a party because there won`t be any more updates

And you`re right Brds, 2020 is a long ways away.

How sure can we be that there won't be more shenanigans following July 29?

Who knows what MS may come up with?

I've decided to avoid the free upgrade to 10. I was going to put it on an entirely separate SSD and then just put that SSD in the closet until needed, but I'd have to buy the SSD to do that ($60 to $100)--so it wouldn't be free in my case. I refuse to overwrite a known good Win 7 install and don't trust imaging well enough.

I'll either buy Win 10 at some unknown future date, live with 7 after 2020, or abandon MS entirely no later than 2020.

I have no interest in the free upgrade or anything 10 related at this point. If I ever decide it's something I want to use in future, I'll just go out and buy a boxed retail version. All my Windows 7 licences are boxed products.

This free upgrade hasn't made me want to rush into installing it. Especially when we still have years left on Windows 7.

Let's hope 29th July will be the end of GWX. It's been nothing but a pain in the behind!

Though I do like Windows 7 a lot, I kind of regret leaving Windows XP - at least for my gaming PC. I mostly run MS Flight Simulator and certain addons only work with XP, not with later versions of Windows. They are still sadly missed!. If I could be bothered to uninstall everything and reinstall I'd probably go back to XP. As it is, I'll doubtless stick with Windows 7: I am not changing to Windows 10 anyway - more likely to go backwards than forwards for gaming, as I say...

I've had Windows 10 from day 1, and I'll never go back. I still have a Windows 7 PC, along with a Windows 8.1 PC just to have them, but Windows 10, IMO, is very nice, and serves my purposes just fine. I'm not too worried about Windows spying on me, if they want my information, they'll get it whether it be through Windows 10 or any other method. Same goes with anyone who wants my information. Being an IT administrator I need to know the latest technology to be helpful, so having it, using it every day, etc, helps me be better at my job. I won't scoff at anyone who stays away from Windows 10, you have your own reasons, but for me personally, Windows 10 is just fine. But then again, I feel Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 are just fine as well.

What will you do when Windows XP support ends?
I'm wondering , since I still have one XP box (its actually installing XP right now) that is going to run XP and the programs that I have that won't work on Windows 7 (including games that wouldn't play well in Virtual PC) and I have a Windows 7 license for it, but it's one of those stupid OEM...
