    Hi Mike again :).

I read through that thread " reinstalled twice ......... " What a lot of hassle to update !

Start to think now, I leave this clean install till Microsoft gets there act together on the update front.
That might not be too long now with everybody complaining and the hype about it on the internet every where you turn.

The PC works fine, its just all this old stuff and het language, but I can live with that for a bit longer, what you think ?

    Hi,
It's actually not that big of a deal,
    1) do not connect to the internet during the install
    2) manually install one newer update client
2a) manually install your wifi driver
    3) activate windows
    4) check for updates manually after windows is updated
    5) install only Important updates first by using these update settings

I doubt a fix will ever happen :)

    Well Mike,

    Wonders do occur !!!

It might be this "rollup update package " that M$ has come up with.

Been reading ( and trying to understand ) all the threads about this possible "fix" of the everlasting update saga concerning Windows 7 for at least one year now !!

It's especially interesting for clean installs and the like.

Just waiting now for the " rough edges" to get smoothed and for you Brilliant W7 Geeks to find (As Always) ways to work around the problems

Then the only problem left for me to deal with is my dicey internet connection.

    Hi,
Yea just a few more updates to manually install for the rollup
I believe the trickiest is ie11 getting it installed ahead of time
