Power went out

Last week my power went out when I was on the computer and it kind of scrambled everything but, little by little when I kept restarting it, it came back all but IE. It is stuck in basic mode and is not giving me a way to upgrade it. The icon at the top of the page to change it to upgraded version is not there so what do I do?

You could try a System Restore to a date before the Power Outage.

To do that, open Control Panel, select System & then System Protection from the menu on the LH side of the screen, then click on System Restore. This will show you if you have any restore points before the outage that you could try.

Computer shuts down like power outtage, Kernel Power Error ID 41
Recently I installed a new game on my computer (Far Cry 3), and after a while playing it, my computer suddenly shut down, just like a power outtage (except the power was not out). After debating with friends, I went more towards a hardware problem rather than a software problem, so I thought...

Hp laptop takes 15 minutes to power on after clicking the power button
I have had my Hp laptop for 3 years now. It has been working perfectly, up until 2 weeks ago. It would not turn on when I clicked the power button. After clicking the power button, 15 minutes later I noticed it just came to life. Sometimes it doesn't turn on at all for days, but sometimes I click...

DELL E6530 Event 41, Kernel-Power on battery power
Hi, Am new here but long-time Windows uses since Win95. Currently have a DELL E6530 and it gave me a BSOD Event 41 Error while on batteries! Looking around Google and other forums, this transpires to be a PSU related problem, but it's a laptop, and was running on batteries at the time the BSOD...

Shut down computer, remove all power sources, hold down power button
Why does shutting down the computer, removing the AC Adapter, removing the battery (if it is a laptop), and holding down the power button for 30 seconds fix problems in one's computer. I was recently corrected in a post of mine that this does not actually do anything unless one removes the 3 volt...

Hi guys, I'm new here and this is my first post. I have an Optiplex 745 running Windows 7 Professional. Normally in the advanced setting section of the power plan option I have the option to change the power state, however all of a sudden these options have just totally disappeared. Any help is...

How can I change power plan and run scripts based on power state?
I overclock my CPU by changing its FSB and I have scheduled (Task Scheduler) this script to run every time I logon to Windows. But I would like to schedule it to downclock when I pull the power cord and then overclock as I plug it back in. Is this possible? It would also be nice if Windows changed...
