used laptop

I just bought a used laptop. It is a Dell Inspiron 1545, it has Windows 7 Home Premium I have reset the previous Owners administrators account to my name. In Windows explorer, under drive c, Users, It still had the previous owners name and when I right click on it, there is no rename option in the menu. I have searched the internet on how to rename folder under Users, but all of the ways that the search came up with, which were quite a few. I tried a bunch of them, and none of them worked, I also have not ruled out that I could have done something wrong or I made a mistake. I don't think I messed up on any of the ways I tried, which are to numerous to put all of them down. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that anyone has. Is Windows 7 Home Premium different then Windows 7 pro, I am familiar with the Pro version, any of the different ways that I tried worked in Windows 7 Pro but none of them worked under the Home Premium version.

As you have found, changing the name of the use does not change the name of the user folder, This is by design, due to he complex interactive nature of the modern operating system.

To change things you will need to create a new user, (the folder names are often acceptable as the work involved is a little complex and time consuming).
