Error message on Win 7start up, Win7 won't boot

My windows 7 won't boot, cannot get to command prompt, Tried all. F8 menu but to no avail.
I would like to salvage my picture, docs, and music files.
Please can anyone offer a solution other than a factory restore.
    Thanks:)

    Hi Deborah2016,

    Welcome onboard.

What recent hardware / software changes have you made? Installed any new software?

While someone else may direct you on how to deal with the problem at the OS level and get the anamoly removed, by Repair or System Restore, if your intent is to recover the data first so that you may feel safe, then try booting from a live Linux and check whether your drive can be accessed and you can copy the important data.

Prepare a Lucid Puppy pendrive using Rufus https://rufus.akeo.ie/. ( Make sure you have backed up all existing data on the pendrive since all data in it will be lost when Rufus formats the pendrive before writing Lucid Puppy)

See this post Is there any way of saving a completely unrecognisable hard drive?

Boot your machine with the pen drive using the onetime boot menu.

On how to use Lucid Puppy go to the topic Recovering files from the non-bootable Internal Drive: in my thread Lucid Puppy way to recover files from a non-bootable computer

    Windows7 error

    Thank you Jumanji very much:)
I will follow your steps and hopefully I will arrive at a resolution!
I will let you know, but this will take me some time to get the required programs as I cannot use my PlayBook...have to go to a friends.
    Thsnks again
    Deborah

PS.. No new software or hardware installs.
The only thing I can think of is I went into system restore and picked one of two restore points which said something about "Windows Update"

    FYI also ..this message box
came up an error message box (Windows cannot open the required file
    F:\sources\install.wim
    Error code 0 x 8007000D"

    No solution yet

[B] Hi Jumanji, and Sven and anyone else who may have a solution, this is a follow up to my earlier post. Following several attempts.,I managed to get to the screen which is asking to load cd, DVD device drivers?? Please tell me which device driver (Acer Aspire) to select.
The attached screens tell the story, Firstly I would like to try to save my files from a hard drive " Format”.
And if that doesn't work....How can I extract my files or copy them or transfer to my 64 gb PlayBook.?

    more pics to follow

    Thanks

You can hook up your drive to any other PC to salvage your files.

Just hook it up then copy and paste your files to a folder you create on that PC.
