Before going back to win 7 help?
I've just up'd to win 10 but might go back to win 7 thru recovery option.
I was wondering what happens to win 10 when I go back to win7...... can I get win 10 back later?

You need to update to Windows 10 before the end of July or you will no longer qualify for the free update and will need to pay if you decide to update to Windows 10 in future.
I went and took the plunge;
1) I upgraded to win 10 and checked to make sure it was activated.
2) I used the win 10 recovery feature to go back to win 7, worked great.
3) couple hrs later, I decided to answer my own post and went to the MS site and installed win 10 again, it installed and the MS servers activated it during install.........that works folks.
Bottom line, once win 10 is installed and activated on the Microsoft servers, the activation process is there for a long time... maybe forever
Hi,
During the free upgrade offer it's not surprising win-10 will reactivate
It's after the free offer expires and you're using win-7 and want to go back to win-10 is where win-10 might not auto reactivate.
Still too early to tell seeing as the free offer is still alive.
I think that once it's activated, it's activated forever. Let's say someone upgraded to Win 10 when it first became available and used it for an entire year. On Aug 1st, 2016 (just past the free upgrade period) they suffer a hard disk crash (with no backup). They will need to do a clean install and Win 10 will need to reactivate then.
