Enlarged W7 partition, now error 0xc0000225
As per title, I enlarged my W7 partition.
I usually run Linux Mint, but I also need Windows for work, and a proper installation is obviously better than a slimmed down W7 in Virtual Box.
To be honest is not that I have stuff in there that I need saving, but I seriously dislike just delete the partition altogether and starting with a fresh install again.
I actually left behind W7 for a good year or two because it got increasingly slow, and no wonder, it didn’t have any room in its partition…
I tried to give it a bit of breath making it bigger and giving it much more free space, but at the next boot:
I can put inside the installation disk, but it’s not seen. It just prompts over and over this message.Code:Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next". 3. Click "Repair your computer". If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. Status: 0xc0000225 Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
Funnily enough I am my system administrator, and I am also my computer manufacturer, and haven’t got any clue!
That’s why I am here…
I read in a microsoft help link that it was suggested to recover the partition using TestDisk, but wouldn’t start in Linux (yes, Linux is pretty crap if you have to install a program, it’s never ever an easy-peasy process).
Is there anything else I can do, please?
I had a look trying to find a similar problem to mine, but what helped other people doesn’t help me (namely inserting a W7 disc).
Thanks in advance!
