How to delete unwanted entry in MSCONFIG BOOT tab

I have two entries in the boot tab

    Windows 7 (c:\windows) : Current OS;Default OS
    and
    Windows7 (c:\windows) [debugging enabled]

when I delete the second one I can't set "Normal startup" in the General tab
it automatically goes to " Selective startup"

If I set "Normal startup" the second (deleted) entry reappears.

I'd like to have "Normal startup" AND only one default entry to avoid the selection screen in the booting process.
    thanks

That 2nd message implies you have at some stage installed a testing version of W7, and is not normally found on a home computer.
The only way to get rid of it is to perform a clean install.

    Nope, no testing versions.
I just tried to recover from the booting problem when I changed timeout 30 to timeout 0 in msconfig.
But if there is no other option other than re installation I'd have to live with that.
    Thanks for quick reply.

    thats a nonstandard OS
a "Windows 7 SP1 Debug/Check Build" version which only meant for developers.
