How to disable Lock on wake-up after Hibernate?

This is my first post. Yay!

I just got Windows 7 installed on my new self built HTPC. I setup a XBOX 360 wireless gamepad to act as a mouse and media remote using Joystick-2-Mouse. Most everything's working fine and it's great to be able to kick back on the couch and surf the web with a controller instead of a mouse.

My main problem is when I hibernate or got to standby I can't use the controller on the "lock" screen. I'm thinking this has to do with some kind of permission for Joystick-2-Mouse that doesn't let it run during the lock screen. This also happens when the UAC prompts pop up (this isn't a big deal because I'll hardly be installing new programs or playing with system settings once I get everything setup).

The simplest solution I could think of is to just disable the lock screen so when I press the power button to bring the HTPC out of hibernate it would go directly to the desktop. If this isn't possible maybe there's a way to give permissions to Joystick-2-Mouse (assuming that's what's happening here) so that it will work in the lock screen.

A secondary question is when the PC goes into standby mode. With a mouse you can just click the mouse to wakeup but when using the controller it doesn't work. I assume that this can't be made to work because mouse drivers are loaded by default in Windows and the controller isn't emulating a mouse, it's just getting mapped to mouse controls.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Thanks for the reply Jonathan.

I already figured this out last night. I also found a cool little program that allows most USB devices (including my 360 controller) to wake a PC from sleep. Here is a link to MCE Standby Tool. I was so impressed with the simplicity and ease of use that I gave the dev a generous donation.
