You look up the motherboard at the motherboard manufacturers website and download the network drivers to a flash drive, then install them on the pc.

Telling us the make and model of the computer is normally required information, for a question like that.

However, I can tell you from personal experience, that the Driver Pack in Windows 7 is seriously lacking.*
It's nothing unusual, if you're installing Win-7 on an older PC, for it to NOT have the drivers for the LAN.
I just experienced that a few nights ago, with an older laptop. And the PC's manufacturer does not have those drivers, because they never wrote them for Win-7, if the PC was originally set up for XP. So I wound up using a plug-in, USB, LAN adapter. That worked fine, after I installed the
drivers for it.

Many times I've had to do the same with the sound....had to install a low cost sound card to get sound on an older PC.

* If you have the option to use Windows 8.1, it will probably have the compatible drivers you need.
The Driver Pack in Windows 8.1 is the most inclusive I've ever seen in any version of Windows.

Good Luck Mate!
