Snipping tool

I use the snipping tool in windows 7 to copy things from the screen then I paste the image from the clipboard to a new windows word document. The document looks good on the screen and it looks good in the print preview screen but when I print it the bottom portion and the right edge of the image are missing. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks, Paul

I think it is a problem with printer settings - try to fit the image on the printing sheet.

I tried that as you suggested but it didn't change things. I kept messing around and I discovered that if I would rotate the image, even just a little, then it would print the full image. It looks a little strange but it works. I have know idea why this would make a difference in the way it prints.

Hi paulsstuff
I use snipping tool a lot, and I found this problem too. In my case, I looked ta the way it looks onscreen. If it appears to be wider than longer, I printed in Landscape. If not, Portrait. I lost parts of images before I found that.

Then I found a setting in my printer's software that gave me "Auto Portrait/Landscape" and I use that when printing from a snipping Capture. It is also useful to copy the Capture image into Paint, paste and edit in your image software.

A 'Snipping Tool' doesn't sound like anything I'd ever want to use.

For many years now, I've used a little program from France, called "Photo Filtre" for all my screen saves and photo editing. The program is FREE and with a shortcut to it in the Taskbar, it's very easy to use.

When I want to do a screen-capture for instance, I just make sure my screen is arranged the way I want it and then I press the "Print Screen" key, which copies the entire screen (minus the cursor) to the Clip Board.
Then I click the Photo Filtre icon in the task bar and right click in the PF screen and then click "Paste as a new Image", and there is my desktop image in PF, where I can resize it, add contrast if needed, add text if required and finally save the image or print it out.
I always get the images 100% like they were on the monitor screen.

So maybe you can tell, I'm totally sold on the FREE program "Photo Filtre" (yes it's spelled correctly...It's French! )

Cheers Mates!

But the Snipping Tool is for an entirely different purpose than Photo Filtre. It is perfect for the screenshots on this Forum for instance and it is possible to get a shot of open Context Menus with the Snipping Tool!

I agree Mitchell65. It doesn't sound like he is familiar with Snipping Tool. It is a good feature.

Snipping Tool

Of course it's different, what TechnoMagetalks about is an Image Editor or photo editor.

The Snipping Tool is a FREE Windows 7 tool, perhaps TechnoMage does not know how to access and use it. I also have it in my taskbar, I use it so often.

And we can all use Print Screen -> Clipboard and copy the result to any image or photo programme we have.

And yes, some of us can also read, write and speak French.

I would speak "French" but Mama told me not to use those words.
