Proactive at shut down choices

Hello,

At the shut down button is an arrow with Switch user , Log off , Lock , Restart and Sleep choices.
I am only one using this PC so no multiple users or any user accounts with passwords at boot.

Basically I want to be able to get out of a mess before I accidentally clik one of the above.

I use restart selection so no help needed there. I have never clicked any of the others and if I accidentally do , how do I get out of this situation?

1) Switch user if clik what happens & how to get out of this situation?
2) Log off * same question as above
3) Lock * same question as above
4) Sleep * same question as above

On # 3, " it will ask you to do so the first time you lock." I must enter a password even though I never had one, and I must remember this pass forever?

Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate Commands - Add or Remove

remove/reset password
User Account Password - Change

This "Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate Commands - Add or Remove" link entails removing all commands, I want restart & shut down to remain. Actually I want them all to remain, I was asking how to reverse/eliminate the process once I accidentally clik them. Thank you .

You would need to have a password to be considered locked, otherwise it's just a log off.

So it is asking you to create one, and you definitely want to remember it if you want to unlock.
