Task scheduler process deletes old system restores?

I keep the last three system restore files, and check at least once a day if they exist by using the Ccleaner listing. On occasion, I found that all, or two of my older copies were deleted. Yesterday, I deleted Windows' daily scheduled system restore in the Task Scheduler but today I found that the system again ran a cleanup and I can't find what does this. It's not a space problem because I allocated 1GB for system restore storage and check that setting as well. Could someone please advise about the source of the problem?

Using and trusting Restore Points.

Learn to use a better utility for recovery such as Macrium Reflect free.

DavidE, Thanks for the reply, but it's not helpful. I use Macrium full system mirror backup every two days, or more often when there is going to be changes to the system. But, I still prefer to have more than one insurance policy.

I understand.
You can wait for others that use SR for better help.

Some people use an Imaging program and SR for an "insurance policy".
Some others use multiple Imaging programs for an "insurance policy".

It's a personal choice, what works best for each, use that.
Reliable recovery is the MOST important consideration for me.

That is exactly my take. SR is not always the best choice knowing from personal experience. I installed both macrium and aomei and both are excellent, but since macrium is mentioned more often, I decided to stick with it. Already needed to restore on several occasions, which was faultless. As a word of advice with either software is, create the PE rescue disk and TEST it to be sure that it works when needed.

I believe you are talking about System Restore and not imaging as Macrium is. == Windows will make Restore Points when it does Updates and other things that change your system. You should keep more than three restore points. Keep them all. You never have too many. When the 1 Gig you have is used up, it will automatically erase the oldest one You don't need to do anything. == To be sure a Restore Point is made fairly often, I make a Restore Point my self every Wednesday. This way I know I have one a least once a week. Give that a try and see if they still are being erased.
