I don't use tin foil; I use cast iron.
Try W-10 if you care to. I did.
If you like it buy it.
If it's not worth buying you don't like it enough.

For anyone who haven't upgraded to Windows 10 yet, there is a trick that you can reserve a spot and upgrade later. I found it from HowToGeek, check it out.

For me it's down to drivers. If I upgrade to 10 this month some features of my keyboard and OSD will no longer work. Yes I can use generic drivers (and loose those features) but I'd rather stick with a fully functional Windows 7 machine until I decide to replace it.

Intel Driver has caused my issue with both Windows 10 & Linux (Ubuntu 16.04). So, I am kind of stuck with Linux 17.3 & Windows 7. It basically blinks in Windows 10 & IN Linux 16.04 it doesn't recognize the correct resolution. I just hope Linux mint 18.x xfce will work, yes it may have the same issue as 16.04

I have several 'spare' hdd's, 2 1/2 & 3 1/2. I will clone my laptop hdd to one of these old drives & u/g it to 10.
Toshiba #505 laptop has an esata port so cloning goes quickly (relatively). I did this already (cloned 7 to an ssd, quick & easy drive swap)

Original drive, I did a full install onto a smaller size drive, put it away for safekeeping. Hows this plan?

With that trick, your not actually upgrading latter by the way. Your upgrading now, and then doing a rollback. You will get a Digital Entitlement with the upgrade that you can use to clean install Windows 10, or do the upgrade a second time, after the 29th. There are potential pitfalls involved. The upgrade could fail, or the roll back could fail. You'll want to make an image of your current install, and or be prepared in case you have to reinstall your current OS. Just in case something happens.

That's one of my major issues with 10, drivers. I use a Ducky mechanical keyboard and all I've heard about 10 is driver issues. I've done some research and it appears my keyboard probably won't work with 10 and I don't intend to give up my mechanical keyboard for a cheap one.
I've never had a printer, keyboard or any other peripherals that W7 couldn't handle easily, yet 10 threw all that compatibility out the window.
Some people think 10 represents progress, but when it comes to drivers and forced updates 10 is going in reverse.

You should've expect Driver problems in 10's first few months. It's still young.

Early on yes, I experienced many driver issues. Not now though. I just let Windows update do its thing and after few minutes all my stuff then works. Even my USB monitor for my laptop. I plug it in and DisplayLink installs automatically. It was a PITA to get working on the early builds. My HP WIFI laser printer installs all on it's own, no setup at all on the PC side of things. Same deal for my HP all in one, as soon as I turn it on the drivers get installed. I don't have to install any drivers manually on any of my PC's. YMMV though. And my desktop PC hardware is old tech by todays standards.

I haven't had many driver issues but I'm using gtx980's too

You never know till you try all I can say is your mother board is unlikely compatible with fast start
I tested with my Acer WG43M Motherboard system and the same E5200 and lost a hard drive in the process because of fast start features of win-10
Upgraded to a Q9550 but doesn't help the old mother board still not being compatible
