    missing icon

In the desktop Explorer window that contains the main (default) file folders (such as Contacts, Desktop, Documents, My Music, My Pictures, Links, Searches, etc.), the icon for my Documents folder is missing: it only shows as an empty plain manila folder. I had hoped to restore it by right-clicking "Properties" to "Customize" to "Change Icon", but there is no such option. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Im just taking a guess, but this might work. If you right click on the folder and you get the option of previous version, it might just work. You will have a previous version if you ever saved the old folder with system restore or back up and restore. If you do have the option, you may want to save the documents that are in the folder, because they may be rolled back to an earlier time, also.

Right-click on the icon, choose properties, click change icon and navigate to the C:\windows\system32 directory and open imageres.dll.

    Hello RDA,

This tutorial may help restore the user folder icon for you. Be sure that you are doing this from the C:\Users\(user-name) location.

If not, then double check to make sure that the "My Documents" user folder is set to it's default location.

    Hope this helps,
