Does win7 have an activity monitor/logger

    Hey guys,
I'm using a win7 x64 machine for heavy duty (gpu mining) and at seemingly random times (every 2,6,16 hours) there is a 99% drop in performance, so windows is doing something that I don't know of and I'd like to know if there is a builtin activity logger to see what is going on or how could I see the past 24h activity without affecting performance. There is nothing in the event viewer for the past one day and the performance drop just happened half hour ago.

Beside one program, there is basically nothing it should do. I disabled all scheduled tasks (that I saw in the task scheduler), windows updates, wmi, all experience programs are turned off. The CPU of the machine is just a sempron 145 so any duty basically wrecks it, so this thing I'm searching could be something very small, although it lasts for usually 1-2minutes.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Hello pwpwpw and welcome to W7F! Hit the Windows key and type perfmon. Select perfmon.exe. Here's some information to help you with perfmon -----> How to save Perfmon data using Windows 7 performance monitor Hope this helps.

Hey Lance1, so far I could make a log of the performance and view the log but I cannot find where to log individual processes, I can only see how much cpu/ram/hdd use the pc has. I want to see the cpu/hdd (at least cpu) usage of all processes, there must be something for that since you can see every I/O possible

That is a nice soft man. After I compared both PCs with this program, the only differences in schedule task was some windows media player BS, amd gpu updater and windows defender schedule, those must be the guilty ones especially defender. After I disabled those I went on a rampage and disabled about 15other services and tasks that had activity in the last 2days. Hope there's nothing else. Thanks alot man! +rep
