Non-existant Bd-rom drives spammed on startup

Hello, I have a windows 7 ultimate x64 system pc, and today I started getting a weird bug - as soon as the system loads, every couple of seconds bd-rom drives start getting created and placed in the device manager and file explorer. This overflows the displayable devices up to disk Z in the explorer and goes way on, until there are somewhere about 100 in the device manager. Could anyone please help? It would be much appreciated.

Seems to have been Daemon tools going a bit of its rocker.
Kinda fixed by doing unmount all in Daemon tools, but still doesn't explain what caused it, since I haven't used Daemon tools for half a year or so.
