This is just an opinion. If you still looking. I would say walmart dot com. Walmart dot com has market place sellers. So if you want to be able to return it within 15 days to your local store, make sure your purchase comes from walmart dot com not a market place seller. You might also want to check out your local Walmart store(s) 1st. I have seen non-refurbished prices of desktop around $300 to $500 dollars. It very low end-some have monitors, some don't. I have a low end all-in-one Dell that works ok but 10 no longer works on this system. It cost around $400 dollars and had windows 7 sp1 pre-installed.

    Hi,
I believe the op has already bought a refurbished unit
Usually they are swap/ replace but "not refundable" and that is indeed only for 30 days in most cases if lucky :)

I should of said in the U.S. At Wal-mart & Wal-mart dot com you have 15 days to return new electronics (certain cell phones have different rules) from the date of purchase. That is why walmart dot com says to return the item to the local store because by the time walmart dot com would get it, it would be past the return date. I don't buy any major products (with a few exceptions) if I can't return them. Actually that is my policy with most products again with few exceptions. The reason, I want a working product, not a paperweight.

    Hi,
I don't believe Logo897 has stated exactly where the refurbished machine was purchased from unless I missed it
All I think I know is it has already been purchased and is being used :)

Oh no I have not bought another laptop yet. The laptop I've been showing the issue on has been this one that I've had for 2 years, if that's what you mean?

Ok I'm going to test out multiple tabs in a bit, will get back soon.

I don't have any experience with this but these sites are good, and you can usually get them from the OEM's. Even Ebay or Amazon will do, but you need to be buyer savy, and read up on returns etc.

Some laptops do run hot, especially when I see you are running 80% CPU. Right now I'm running about 6% With certain Malware scans things will run much more, get warmed up for me but not to bad.

Seems as though this pc is quite old? Thought you said is was newer, It almost surely came with XP, and they installed W7 on it for resale? This also confirms what Thrashzone and others might have said about the Heatsink being plugged up, or in need of new Thermal Paste because it is old. And, that W7 may be to much for it, Thrashzone would no more about that. The CPU was launched in 06, mine is the same though, it's not all age but surely could be running cooler.

Make sure the intake is not being blocked, as in, using on some type of cloth, like your bed, or the carpet. There needs to be a little space underneath the laptop. And don't block the exhaust. Thrashzone is very good so would be good to follow his advice.

Did you post up the specs, it's okay, I see enough I think. That's probably a really good laptop, so stick with it if possible.

    Hi,
Indeed sounds like you're just expecting too much of this machine but it's still not terrible if the update system is working properly = finding updates and installing them with no failures.

Click Start and type in the search box
    system information
Click on the suggestion or hit the enter key

You should land on the system summery page
On the top left go to edit and Select all
    Then Edit again and Copy

Open a reply here and right click and Paste.

I've bought this computer refurbished 2 years ago with windows 7. Originally, it had Windows Vista Business OEM

Also, I've heard complaints about the new Google chrome version slowing down computers, so I ran a test with Google chrome and here are the results:

I have a solid 90-100% CPU usage when it's open.

Internet explorer is open right now as I'm typing, and I'm having 12% CPU usage.

My temps went down 20 degrees Celsius compared to chrome...

What is up with that? Pretty crazy!
