    Please im begging for help!

Ok so stupidly i got windows 7 at a retail store thinking oh wow how cool it is, it turns out to be that my hp pavilion dv6500 drivers are not compatible and now i cant change the windows taskbar color and cant use my finger sensor because hp has no drivers for it anymore, i know this is all my fault because i didnt find out first if there were new drivers for my netbook and my main problem is that since this hp does not have a vista installation cd i cant go back to vista! it has an in built vista cd i guess and now it wont let me go back.

Please please i really want to go back since my computer looks all messed up.
    I really trully appreciate it.

Also, have you tried running the drivers in compatibility mode for Vista? Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit?

Here is a link to drivers for your onboard graphics. Try these and report back on the results.

    Hello eriick,

    Welcome to 7 Forums.

Most of the Vista drivers will work in 7. Have you tried them yet? If you go to User CP and fill in your system specs, we may be able to help you get up and running.

I believe you can contact HP and have them send you a reinstall disk. Might have to pay few bucks. Shipping and such.

    Hope this helps.

Alright...the Driver master is at your service...

x86 drivers for your fingerprint reader are at this link
x64 drivers for your fingerprint reader are at this link

Run the driver in Compatibility Mode for Windows Vista : Compatibility Mode

Now...tell me if you have a NVIDA graphics card or an Intel graphics card and I will help you fix your video

Download the ones for x64 in my post above and follow the compatibility mode...

That should get your fingerprint working...

    Now for the NVIDIA...

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 179.48 BETA

This should get your GFX up and running

Are you sure he doesn't have a 7 series GPU in that notebook?

I am going to play it safe and tell him to go for the lower driver

You can also use an app at Halfdone Development to find out what those unknown devices are.
