OK...here is the link for your x64 video drivers.

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81 WHQL
Are you sure he doesn't have a 7 series GPU in that notebook?

I am going to play it safe and tell him to go for the lower driver
Looking up the specs on it shows that it comes with a Geforce Go 8600M GS, which is supported by the WHQL driver that I linked to. Either one should work though.

Did you also try right-clicking the fingerprint reader and selecting update? My UPEK reader received a driver straight up.

He isn't using a UPEK which is why he is having issues...

UPEK is far better than most other Biometric makers

Ok...I just tried the link for the fingerprint reader and it works...

    Click on the link
Hit the download button and save it to the desktop
    Run the exe afterwards

eriick, did you by any chance make 'restore disks' when you first got your computer? Also, what version of Vista was originally on your machine?

There is no way you can change your taskbar color with Win 7 like to 'black'etc...
It will pick up the color of the background image if you can get aero to work (clear)

His laptop can run AERO...no question about it (8600M GS is more than enough...)

He just needs to install the NVIDIA driver and he will be good to go
