Please Help With Pictures on Windows 7

I just wiped my hard drive and reinstalled windows. I copied the picture's library onto a thumb drive, but the only pictures on there are sample pictures. None of my other pictures were saved; how can I retrieve them?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Sadly they can not be recovered or at least no method I know of

It's always best to verify files on the device way too late for the info though you already found out why

@ ShadanR. Have a look in your User files to see if they are there.

To do that click on Computer & then on the C: drive, then click on Users, then on your Name (the one you use on this computer), scroll down & see if there is a folder called Pictures, if so Right Click on it & select Include in Library & then select Pictures. This should get them to now show up in your Picture Library.

Documents & Pictures etc., Libraries are just a convenient place to find these items but they are actually stored in separate location, which in this case is under Users. Libraries act somewhat like a short cut does.

Why didn`t you have your pictures on another partition or some other storage device ?

Didn`t you verify that the pictures were on the flash drive before you formatted ????????

    Copy, Paste, Verify

    Copy, Paste, Verify
