You need to elaborate on this please. What are you doing when this occurs? You mention IE and yahoo. Is the browser based?

Can you post a screenshot to give us better idea. It sounds web based. It's late here so off to bed. Check back in the morning.

Windows has a snipping tool to take shots of the screen. Use that.

Then follow the instructions here to post it to the forums:

    A couple of things:

    1. No legitimate website should ever ask for your Windows password. Either that site has been hacked, or it's shady, or you are the victim of malware.

    2. You should should never post your email address in an open forum, whether in a post or in a picture. If I were you, I would edit your post and take down the picture. The load the picture from your hard disk with something like Windows Paint and scrub out your login address and your email address. Once the picture has that information cleaned off then re upload it into your post so others can see it.

    Some questions:

    1. What are you using for anti-virus/anti-malware?

    2. Have you scanned your computer for viruses lately?

    3. Have you tried using another browser like Chrome of Firefox? Does it still ask for the Windows password if you do?

    4. Is this just a new thing? How long has this been happening?
