Anywhere i can download vista home premium?

Hi my laptop came with vista home basic pre-installed and i put windows 7 on now.

On the bottom of my laptop i have got the product key but i would like to put vista home basic back on (dual boot) so does anyone know where i can download this for free to use my own product key?

Look forward to hear from you,

Regards Paul

You don't have a license for Vista Home Premium. You have a license for Vista Home Basic. If you want to dual boot Vista (no idea why you'd need or want to, considering you have Windows 7 already), you should either use your OEM disc, or ask for one from your laptop vendor.

You should have asked for one when you got the system, or made one from the included utilities (some vendors). If you do have to ask for one, you probably will have to pay shipping and handling.

The bigger question is...why would you want to dual boot Vista when you have Windows 7 already? You won't find compatibility issues between the two. You'd just be wasting space, and making your system FAR more complicated. In short, if you have a legit copy of Windows 7, you have no need for Vista.

If you need a copy of the vista you got preinstalled with your computer then call up your manufacture and only state that your recovery partition got corrupted and you'd like a replacement copy, at the most they'll only charge you for shipping.

Though I did this when I first got my laptop and got them for free. Took 2 weeks but free is free.

If you want a copy of one you don't have a license for then your out of luck. No one here will help you find it. We do not condone piracy.

Home premium or Home Basic license?

Either way the company would only send you the version yours came with, and they can tell what version it came with.
