    invoking he best geeks, explorer crashed and nothing on screen, HELP

    This already had happened months ago and no luck asking for help

    i will try i t again

    i had several windows opened... i just turn on the computer this morning (resume from hibernation)

    and once windows was ready i inserted a flashdrive, nothing happened then i opened an explorer windows and then it was freeze, (like faded out in white)

    taking into accuunt that once that happen the system then.. al the widnows start to becoming freezed and i hurry up to save some unsaved notepads but i wasnt fast enough, then explorer crashed, the screen only had the wallpaper in it and nothing else

    the system is not freeze, the cps and num lock key are alive..

    i desperately pushed the power button trying to send the systm back to hibernation but no luck the system only turned off the screen and thats all since then the num locks, caps are still alive it jsut like if the system is unable to start the explorer nor to hibernate

    everything i want is to rcover the unsave notepads that they ARE there opened, bt the screen is black

    Did you try Alt+tab to switch from one application to another?
    Alt+F4 will close the running application. Even if you can't see anything, it will ask if you want to save. Hit enter to save.

    the problem is that i dont know which app would be then selected switching, and before going completly black, the alt+tab function was already showing nothing to switch to

    You can try turning off the monitor and then turning it back on to see if that gets the display working again.
    I've had that fix a "no-display" problem.

    Going forward you should consider using some program other than Notepad.
    Notepad doesn't have an auto-save option, so no recovery if anything happens and you did not save the latest changes.
    I use Notepad++, it has an auto-save option, and can recover even if the power goes out while the PC is on and i have unsaved files.
    I use the portable version.
    Notepad++ Home

    You can also try alt-ctrl-del to see if that displays anything.
