Windows 7 - Folder Settings Driving me MAD !!!!!!!

Hello Folks, looking for some help, does anybody know how to save folder options in windows 7, example -

1 - I want the root of 'My Music' folder set up using the 'List' option
2 - When I open up a folder within 'My Music' I want the folder set up using 'Medium Icons' so I can view album artwork
3 - When I open up a specific album I want the folder setup using the 'Details' option

The problem I have is when I set up options on 1 folder all other folders inherit those options, it is very annoying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to set up my folders in XP in this manner.

I believe all those "special" folder are like that by deafly

So im screwed then, :-), basically MS have totally screwed up windows explorer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was also a major 'feature' of Vista, what else did you expect?

Is this in the Libraries? If so, then yes a Library will share the same folder views.

If it's from your C:\Users\(user-name)\My Music folder in Windows Explorer (not a "Open to" or "Save As" type window), then you should be able to set each folder's folder view, then close the window to have it be remembered.

If you were using libraries and you set the arrange view of the Music library to Artist you can in fact do just what you want. With the library just customize (Artist -> Album -> Song) one level at a time and it will remember for every other level.
