I don't know why but for some reason the task bar moved from the bottom of my laptop screen to the top. Any ideas why

It's because the taskbar is unlocked. Click and drag the taskbar to the bottom then right click and click on lock the taskbar.

Right click on the taskbar and choose properties, and look for Task bar option on screen drop down box

The option you are looking for is Taskbar location on screen: which should be set as shown below.
