Tip to restore Aero

After having a few hassles with updating my NVIDIA drivers, I eventually got a working screen back. (use safe mode to update your video drivers. My screen kept going into power save once the Nvidia driver was unloaded and never came back forcing me to hard reset)

Once they were installed again, I was stuck with classic mode. Here's how I sorted it:

1) Refresh your Index Score (it's considered new hardware)
2) Select a high-contrast theme ...then
3) Select your previous theme that had Aero

That should work

There's bound to be other ways to do it, but that's what worked for me
